Saym Hussain is a multidisciplinary designer, researcher, and maker who works to solve big-picture challenges.
His work moves between contexts and mediums allowing him to bridge the gap in applying innovation to real-world problems. Previous work has ranged from physical objects and digital interfaces to sustainable services and speculative futures.
He takes an ontological approach to design, understanding that, through design, we affect the world we live in and hence shape how people respond to the world. Therefore, design isn't just function and aesthetics for individual users, but a wide-ranging responsibility that carries social, political, and cultural influence — affecting how we collectively perceive the past, experience the present, and navigate futures.
Saym is currently a Product Designer at Dare — leading the development of renewable energy solutions for the transition to net zero. Previously he was a Designer at Accenture Song (Bow&Arrow) and a Behavioural Design Researcher at Imperial College London.
